CPSP-CATS Engineering Cluster Convenes 2nd Meeting to Strengthen Career Progression and Specialization Initiatives

Manila, PhilippinesThe 2nd Career Progression and Specialization Program - Credit Accumulation and Transfer System (CPSP-CATS) Engineering Cluster Meeting presided by Hon. Jaime V. Mendoza, Chairman, PRB- Electrical Engineering was convened on April 10, 2025 at the Professional Regulation Commission- Morayta. 

The meeting aims to provide comprehensive updates from the Professional Regulatory Boards (PRBs) and CPSP-CATS Committees, particularly on the creation of the CPSP and the development of guidelines for each identified CPSP. Issues on the formulation of guidelines on the Recognition of Professionals with Higher Qualifications for the issuance of PRC Professional Identification Cards (PICs) aligned with the Philippine Qualifications Framework (PQF) Level, where applicable were also discussed including the Implementing Guidelines on the Accreditation of Special Societies/Organizations, in support of enhancing professional growth, and sectoral advancement.

Attended by Assistant Commissioner L. Louis P. Valera, Oversight Commissioner for CPSP-CATS, representatives from the CPSP-CATS Committees, PRBs, and CPSP-CATS Consultant Ms. Pearl G. Po, the meeting provided a platform for sharing accomplishments and strategies for the effective implementation of career progression and specialization pathways.

Recognizing the crucial role of the CPSP in aligning professional qualification, Assistant Commissioner Valera and Hon. Mendoza emphasized the importance of policy alignment, collaborative engagement, and the need to address ongoing issues and concerns surrounding CPSP implementation.

The Engineering Cluster also reiterated its commitment to enhancing the capabilities and recognition of Filipino professionals both locally and internationally.

This 2nd Cluster Meeting underscores the Engineering Cluster’s continuous pursuit of excellence and its dedication to the holistic development of the country’s professional sector through the effective implementation of CPSP-CATS initiatives.
