Stakeholders’ Consultation of the CPSP-CATS Committee of Food Technology
Makati City, Philippines – The Career Progression and Specialization Program – Credit Accumulation and Transfer System (CPSP-CATS) Committee for the Professional Regulatory Board of Food Technology (PRB- Food Technology) successfully conducted its Stakeholders’ Consultation on Friday, 11 April 2025 at Milky Way Café, 2nd Floor, Milkyway Building, 900 Arnaiz Avenue, Pasay Road corner Paseo de Roxas, Makati City.
The consultation was led by Hon. Anthony C. Sales, Chairman of the PRB- Food Technology and CPSP-CATS Committee Chairperson (Food Technology) together with Hon. Remedios V. Baclig, Member of the PRB, and Alternate Chairperson.
Also in attendance were esteemed industry experts from the Philippine Association of Food Technologists (PAFT) and representatives from various Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The activity was assisted and facilitated by the PRC CPSP-CATS Secretariat.
During the consultation, Hon. Sales presented and discussed the prepared Resolution for the creation of the CPSP and proposed Professional Practice Outcomes in the Level Alignment Matrices (LAMs) of the four (4) identified specializations for the Food Technology profession, namely: Consumer and Sensory Science, Food Engineering, Food Safety Management, Food Processing. Additionally, Hon. Sales underscored the significance of the CPSP in enhancing career pathways, recognizing advanced competencies, and fostering lifelong learning and continuous professional development among Filipino food technologists.
The Professional Regulation Commission through Assistant Commissioner L. Louis P. Valera, Oversight for CPSP-CATS, extends its appreciation to the industry professionals, educators, and experts who participated and contributed their expertise to help shape the evolving landscape of the food technology profession in the country.
