Professional Regulatory Board and CPSP-CATS Committee of Radiologic Technology Hold Successful Stakeholders' Consultation on Career Progression and Specialization Program – Credit Accumulation and Transfer System (CPSP-CATS)

MANILA, PHILIPPINES - A total of eighty (80) Radiologic Technology Professionals gathered for a pivotal Stakeholders’ Consultation hosted by the Professional Regulatory Board of Radiologic Technology (PRB-RAD) and the Career Progression and Specialization Program – Credit Accumulation and Transfer System (CPSP-CATS) Committee of Radiologic Technology on Monday, April 28, 2025, at the Sun Star Grand Hotel in Quiapo, Manila.

The significant event was jointly spearheaded by Hon. Reynaldo Apolonio S. Tisado, Chairperson of the PRB-RAD, and Hon. Ma. Jesette B. Canales, Chairperson of the CPSP-CATS Committee of Radiologic Technology. They were joined by PRB-RAD Members Hon. Roland P. Conanan, Hon. Bayani C. San Juan, and Hon. Orestes P. Monzon, as well as CPSP-CATS Committee Members Dr. Edzen A. Espina, Mr. Darwin Z. Angcahan, Ms. Peachy S. Luna, and Mr. Richard S. Lirio.

A key highlight of the consultation was the presentation and in-depth discussion of the draft Resolution on the establishment of the CPSP for the Radiologic Technology profession. Hon. Canales, Dr. Espina, Mr. Angcahan, Mr. Lirio, and Ms. Luna elaborated on the proposed Professional Practice Outcomes within the Level Alignment Matrices (LAMs) for three (3) identified specializations in Radiologic Technology, namely: Ultrasound Technology, Computed Tomography Technology, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technology.

With the insights and guidance from CPSP-CATS Consultant Ms. Perla Gonzales-Po, the participants were provided with a comprehensive understanding and a broader vision of the impact of the CPSP-CATS Framework in the practice of their profession. Ms. Gonzales-Po further emphasized that the formulation of guidelines and the structure of the LAMs are strategically designed to benefit practitioners and support the advancement of the profession.

To conclude the activity, Hon. Monzon, in his closing remarks, highlighted the vital role of CPSP-CATS in the professional advancement of Radiologic Technology Professionals in the Philippines. He underscored its potential to establish clearly defined career pathways, necessary in recognizing advanced competencies, promoting professional growth, and fostering a culture of lifelong learning and continuous professional development.
