The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. A guide to understanding and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 is available at: https://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/

All iGovPhil Project services and content are currently moving towards WCAG Level A compliance. Work is being done to make the system fully compliant with this level.

PRC Launches ID Renewal Center at the Malls

The Professional Regulation Commission recently launched the ID renewal centers at SM Malls during the formal signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between and among PRC, SM Mart Inc. and the Bureau of Treasury on August 6, 2012, 3 p.m., at the SM Mall of Asia Arena Auditorium.

PRC Chairperson Teresita R. Manzala stated that PRC ID renewal centers at SM Malls nationwide is another milestone in the Commission’s e-Services projects. Under this Public-Private Partnership, she said that professionals wishing to renew their PRC IDs will now be able to file their applications for ID renewal and to claim their IDs at SM Malls at their own convenience, seven days a week and during mall hours, thus effectively extending PRC’s services even during weekends and after government office hours.

She said that the “PRC ID renewal system at the Malls” project, which comes right after the successful deployment of its Online Application System for the board examinations, manifests the Commission’s commitment to fully computerize its frontline operations for the convenience of transacting professionals.
