The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. A guide to understanding and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 is available at: https://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/

All iGovPhil Project services and content are currently moving towards WCAG Level A compliance. Work is being done to make the system fully compliant with this level.

Manila, June 1, 2016 --- Pursuant to R.A. 8749 or the “Clean Air Act of 1999”and DOLE’s “Project Green Workplace Advocacy”, the Professional Regulation Commission, in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), conducted a mangrove tree planting activity last Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Calatagan, Batangas.

Before the 60 PRC employees proceeded with the actual mangrove tree planting activity, employees of DENR, together with locals who identified themselves as “Bantay Dagat” conducted a short briefing on the proper ways of planting 10 mangrove propagules per participants along the shorelines and importance to nature.

This activity was done to instill environmental awareness and to replenish of the ever depleting mangroves along the shores of Calatagan, Batangas which serve as a significant breeding ground for fish and other marine life, and provide protection for the storm surges and typhoons in coastal areas.
