VIENTIANE, LAO PDR - The Philippines, through the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC/Commission) Assistant Commissioner L. Louis P. Valera, presided over and spearheaded the ASEAN Business Services Sectoral Working Group (BSSWG) in Vientiane, Lao PDR on 17 June 2025.

This engagement underscores the PRC’s pivotal role in harmonizing professional qualifications through strengthening professional mobility and mutual recognition highlighting the country’s commitment to the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRAs).

One of the mandate is to assist the ASEAN Coordinating Committee on Services (CCS) in ensuring that the objectives enshrined in the seven (7) ASEAN MRAs are effectively realized. These MRAs include seventeen (17) professions under the jurisdiction of the Professional Regulation Commission.

The Philippines, through the PRC, highlighted its active role in shaping ASEAN business services landscape, ensuring Filipino professionals remain competitive in the regional market.
