Guidelines on the Implementation of the PRC-CHED JMC on the Alignment of the LEPT with the Teacher Education Curriculum

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) informs the public of the guidelines on the implementation of the PRC and Commission on Higher Education Joint Memorandum Circular (PRC-CHED JMC) on the alignment of the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) with the Teacher Education Curriculum. The foregoing modifications shall apply in the September 2025 LEPT and the succeeding schedules. The following are the essential modifications in the conduct of LEPT:

ELEMENTARY LEVEL

Remarks

  1. Applicants with the degree in Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd)

To take the General Education and Professional Education subjects.

 

First (1st) timer applicants shall personally appear at the PRC Regional Offices (ROs) to present their application documentary requirements for evaluation.

Repeater applicants are no longer required to appear personally at the ROs, subject to the tagging of their uploaded Transcript of Records (TOR)/required documents within seven (7) days after the deadline.

  1. Applicants with the degree in Bachelor of Special Needs Education (BSNEd)

To take the General Education, Professional Education, and BSNEd specialization subject.

All applicants shall be considered first (1st) timers and shall be required to personally appear at the ROs to present their application documentary requirements for evaluation.

 

  1. Applicants with the degree in Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECEd)

To take the General Education, Professional Education, and BECEd specialization subject.

  1. Applicants with the degree in BEEd

To take the General Education and Professional Education subjects.

*Applicants with Bachelor’s Degree in Pre-school Education shall be under ECE specialization subject.

All applicants shall be considered first (1st) timers and shall be required to personally appear at the ROs to present their application documentary requirements for evaluation.

 

 

 

 

GRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAM

  1. Applicants with Master’s Degree in SNE (the applicant  must have an education-related undergraduate degree or a holder of a Certificate in Professional Education)

To take the General Education, Professional Education, and SNE specialization subject.

All applicants shall be considered first (1st) timers and shall be required to personally appear at the ROs to present their application documentary requirements for evaluation.

 

SECONDARY LEVEL

PHYSICAL EDUCATION, AND CULTURE AND ARTS EDUCATION SPECIALIZATION

  1. Applicants with the degree in Bachelor’s  of Physical Education (BPEd)

To take the General Education, Professional Education, and Physical Education (PE) specialization subject.

All applicants shall be considered first (1st) timers and shall be required to personally appear at the ROs to present their application documentary requirements for evaluation.

 

  1. Applicants with the degree in Culture and Arts Education (BCAEd)

To take the General Education, Professional Education, and Culture and Arts Education (CAE) specialization subject.

OLD CURRICULUM

MUSIC, ARTS AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION (MAPEH) SPECIALIZATION

Types of Examinees

Subjects to be Taken

  1. Applicants with the degree in Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) Major in MAPEH

To take the General Education, Professional Education, and PE subject or CAE specialization subject.

*Applicants shall be allowed to choose their preferred specialization either PE or CAE subject.

 

 

 

All applicants shall be considered first (1st) timers and shall be required to personally appear at the ROs to present their application documentary requirements for evaluation.

 

 

CURRENT CURRICULUM

TECHNOLOGY AND LIVELIHOOD EDUCATION SPECIALIZATION

TECHNICAL VOCATIONAL TEACHER EDUCATION SPECIALIZATION

Types of Examinees

Subjects to be Taken

Remarks

  1. Applicants with the degree in Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLEd) and Bachelor of Technical - Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTEd)

For applicants with the degree I  BTLEd:

To take the General Education, Professional Education and one (1) specialization subject such as:

  1. Agriculture and Fishery Arts
  2. Home Economics
  3. Information and    Communication Technology; or
  4. Industrial Arts.

For applicants with the degree in BTVTEd:

To take the General Education, Professional Education subjects, and Technical – Vocational Education (TVTEd) specialization subject focused on introductory Courses and Common Competencies.

All applicants shall be considered first (1st) timers and shall be required to personally appear at the ROs to present their application documentary requirements for evaluation.

 

 

 

OLD CURRICULUM

TECHNOLOGY AND LIVELIHOOD EDUCATION SPECIALIZATION

  1. Applicants with the degree in BTLEd  

For applicants with the degree in BTLEd:

To take the General Education, Professional Education subjects, exploratory courses, and one (1) specialization of their choice from the following:

1. Agriculture and Fishery Arts 2. Home Economics

3. Information and   

   Communication Technology; or

4. Industrial Arts

 

 

 

All applicants shall be considered first (1st) timers and shall be required to personally appear at the ROs to present their application documentary requirements for evaluation.
