The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. A guide to understanding and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 is available at: https://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/

All iGovPhil Project services and content are currently moving towards WCAG Level A compliance. Work is being done to make the system fully compliant with this level.

PRC I.D. Printing Now in the Regions

Manila, November 2012 – Professionals seeking to renew their Professional Identification Cards (PICs) at PRCs regional offices may now be able to claim their ID’s within seven working days with the implementation of the Regional ID Printing.

The Regional I.D. printing initiative of the Commission enables the PRC regional offices to print professional identification cards in their respective offices instead of sending the applications for ID renewal to the Central Office for printing.

The Regional I.D. Printing, which is based on the Commission’s decentralization thrusts, follows closely the implementation of the “PRC I.D. Renewal System” which is now being used at the Central Office. The new system allows the Filipino professionals to claim their renewed professional ID’s after seven working days.

The 10 regional offices implementing the Regional I.D. Printing are Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.
