The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. All iGovPhil Project services and content are currently moving towards WCAG Level A compliance. Work is being done to make the system fully compliant with this level.

PRC Conducts Virtual Conferment Ceremony for Filipino ASEAN Architects

Manila, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), together with the Professional Regulatory Board of Architecture (PRB-ARC), in collaboration with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) held the Filipino ASEAN Architects 7th Conferment Ceremony last December 10, 2021, via an online platform.

As the collaborative efforts of the PRC, PRB-ARC, CHED, and UAP hone continuous implementation of the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) on Architectural Services, the ceremony bounded not only to develop and facilitate the mobility of Professional Architects, but also to serve as a milestone for the conferees as this symbolizes an opportunity to have a recognized professional standing within the ASEAN Region

 With the theme “Reshaping ASEAN Communities with Impactful Collaborations”, the virtual conferment began with the heartfelt invocation led by CHED Representative Arch. Edric Marco C. Florentino, followed by the warmest welcome remarks conveyed by UAP ASEAN Practice Special Committee Chairperson Arch. Cecilia Cayman-Gamana, and equally-significant messages by UAP National President Arch. Armando Eugene C. De Guzman III, PRC Commissioner Hon. Jose Y. Cueto Jr. and PRC Chairperson Hon. Teofilo S. Pilando Jr., who highlighted in their speeches how regional mobility can be enhanced through this attained distinction and endeavor.

Tagged as the ‘Batch Gold’, a total of nine (9) conferees with outstanding qualifications were named in addition to the one hundred thirty (130) Filipino ASEAN Architects (AA) in the AA Register, presented and conferred through PRB-ARC Chairperson Hon. Robert S. Sac. Finally, the ceremony wrapped up with the informative closing remarks by PRB-ARC Member Hon. Robert M. Mirafuente.

With all the commitment, support and active participation of the PRB-ARC, and the International Affairs Office (IAO) of PRC, who acts as the Secretariat of the ASEAN Monitoring Committee on Architectural Services of the Philippines (AMCASP), the conduct of the Conferment Ceremony was indeed a success, bringing such significant feat to the country’s esteemed Professional Architects who ought to continue driving their passion towards global competitiveness and recognition.
