The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. All iGovPhil Project services and content are currently moving towards WCAG Level A compliance. Work is being done to make the system fully compliant with this level.

PRC@50 Celebration: A Quick Look (Day 2: Community Outreach)

ILOILO CITY, PHILIPPINES – The best way to celebrate the PRC’s 50th Founding Anniversary Celebration is to see the sweet and priceless smiles of the children while receiving their gifts from the PRC Regional Office VI (PRC-RO VI).

As part of the Commission’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities and the PRC’s 50th Founding Anniversary and 2023 Professional Regulation Week celebration, the PRC PRC – RO VI collaborated with various professional organizations in the region to hold a community outreach program last June 17, 2023, at the indigenous communities of Sitio Kati-Kati, Brgy. San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras.   

During the said humanitarian activity, the PRC -  ROVI personnel distributed used pencils, ball pens, and sharpeners donated by the examinees of various licensure examinations, as well as other school supplies, food items, books, medicines/vitamins, hygiene kits, grocery items, and used clothing donated by various professional organizations, PRC – RO VI employees, and other stakeholders. Further, joining the activity were the officers from the Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. (PLAI) – Western Visayas Chapter, Philippine Association of Medical Technologists (PAMET), Inc. – Iloilo Chapter, and Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (IIEE) – Western Visayas Chapter as well as personnel from Robinsons Place - Iloilo. PLAI officers entertained the children with games and storytelling activities while PAMET officers demonstrated to the children the proper way of washing their hands. Aside from the aforementioned professional organizations, the following organizations also extended their assistance and support: Philippine Pharmacists Association (PPhA) - Iloilo-Guimaras Chapter; Philippine Dental Association (PDA) – Antique Chapter; Pambansang Samahan ng Inhenyero Mekanikal (PSIM) – Iloilo and Negros Island Chapters; Philppine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) – Antique, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental Chapters; PAMET – Negros Occidental Chapter; United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) – Antique and Bahandi Chapters; Philippine Nurses Association (PNA) – Region VI and Iloilo Chapter; Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) – Iloilo Chapter; Philippine Institute of Real Estate Service (PhilRES) – Panay Chapter; Professional Criminologists Association of the Philippines (PCAP) – Region VI; Philippine Association for Teachers and Educators (PAFTE), Inc.- Region VI; Western Visayas Occupational Safety and Health Network, Inc. (WVOSTNet.Inc.); and PRC Iloilo Employees’ Multi-Purpose Cooperative.

The program brought together people from diverse disciplines and affiliations, fostered social cohesion, and promoted inclusivity; thus, creating a sense of unity and generating shared purpose. It has successfully encouraged individuals to engage in volunteer work, cultivate a culture of giving back, and be involved in civic responsibilities within the community.
