The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. A guide to understanding and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 is available at: https://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/

All iGovPhil Project services and content are currently moving towards WCAG Level A compliance. Work is being done to make the system fully compliant with this level.

PRC-RO1 Brings Latest PRC Exam Information to ARHEI1's Onsite Conference

Bantay, Ilocos Sur – On January 19-20, 2023, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) through its PRC Regional Office I (PRC-ROI) actively participated in the Onsite Conference held by The Association of Registrars of Higher Education Institutions of Region I (ARHEI1) in Bantay, Ilocos Sur on January 19-20, 2023.

With the theme "Transforming Challenges to Best Practices", the conference aims to update the knowledge of its officers and members about the procedures and requirements for licensure examination and applications for registration and accreditation without examination.

Mr. Bryan S. De Guzman, Professional Regulations Officer III of the Application Section of PRC-ROI represented the Regional Office and served as the resource person for the said conference. Participants were apprised of the required documents that applicants in various professional licensure examinations must submit or present to be admitted to take the licensure examination. Discussed also were the two classifications of documentary requirements, basic and additional, that applicants must meet.

The conference ended with an open forum where registrars were able to seek clarification on a range of issues related to the licensure examination. One of the questions raised was how to deal with discrepancies in their students’ birth certificates, such as birthdates, spellings of names, middle names, and surnames. Another question was about the appropriate major for each straight program for those who intend to take the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers.

The updates provided by the PRC-ROI during the Onsite Conference of the Association of Registrars of Higher Education Institutions of Region 1 were well-received by the attendees. Informative, educational, and valuable as it is, this updated knowledge will better equip the Higher Education Institutions of Region I in guiding their graduates on PRC licensure examination processes and help them meet the requirements for admission to various professions.
