The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. A guide to understanding and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 is available at: https://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/

All iGovPhil Project services and content are currently moving towards WCAG Level A compliance. Work is being done to make the system fully compliant with this level.

PRC Holds Virtual 2020 Year-End Performance Assessment and 2021 Commission Planning Conference

In light of ongoing health and safety protocols and amidst the Nation’s gradual recovery from Covid-19, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) held virtual 2020 Year-End Performance Assessment (YEPA) and 2021 Commission Planning Conference last February 15, 2021, via Zoom.

Virtually attended by the PRC officials and employees from the central and regional offices, including the Chairpersons and Members of the various Professional Regulatory Boards and the ever-supportive Honorable Commissioners Yolanda D. Reyes and Jose Y. Cueto Jr. and PRC Chairman Honorable Teofilo S. Pilando Jr. The whole-day activity aimed to identify the various issues and concerns encountered by the agency during 2020 and discuss root causes in order to create viable solutions and effective measures to address the same.

The activity covered reports rendered by the heads of concerned Offices, tackling assessment, significant proposals, implementation strategies, research programs, action plans, future directions, and other relevant matters.

Chairman Pilando on his YEPA Report highlighted the 2020 statistics collated from the Commission’s relevant services, including the numbers involving legal matters, issuances, clients served thru operational service centers, and feedback retrieved from the Commission’s official social media accounts.

Commissioner Reyes presented notable details on Computer-Based Licensure Examinations (CBLE), one of the Commission’s on-going significant projects. Commissioner Cueto, on the other hand extensively discussed the Commission’s strategies to combat Covid-19.

With all the plans and advancements projected for the year ahead, PRC is equipped to efficiently and proactively respond to the needs and welfare of its personnel, the Filipino professionals, and the public in general. Indeed, the success of this year’s YEPA hovered the culture of integrity and accountability of the Commission.
