The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. All iGovPhil Project services and content are currently moving towards WCAG Level A compliance. Work is being done to make the system fully compliant with this level.

PRC-CAR’s Partnership with DICT-CAR to Bolster ICT Services

Baguio City, CAR - Committed to uphold its mandate to deliver service excellence to the professionals, aspiring professionals, and other stakeholders, the Professional Regulation Commission-Cordillera Administrative Region (PRC-CAR) initiated a partnership with the Department of Information and Communication Technology-CAR (DICT-CAR) which seeks to improve the quality of its ICT services to meet the growing demands of its clients. The PRC-CAR team, headed by Regional Director Juanita L. Domogen, met with DICT-CAR OIC-Regional Director Engr. Rey M. Parnacio last January 25, 2023, at the DICT Compound, Polo Field, Saint Joseph Village, Baguio City to discuss the details of the partnership and to identify the areas where DICT can provide their services and facilities.

As a result, DICT-CAR committed to providing a strong and stable internet connection for the PRC-CAR’s daily operations to augment and serve as the backup of the current Virtual Private Network. The DICT-CAR also assured the provision of the Very Small Aperture Terminal or VSAT which shall be used in the conduct of scheduled mobile outreach services, dubbed as Aldaw ti Propesyonal, in the Cordilleras. Moreover, to improve the video and audio quality during virtual/online oathtaking, online inspections and monitoring, webinars, and other videoconferencing activities, the DICT-CAR shall likewise provide a videoconferencing account for this purpose.

The PRC-CAR is optimistic that this recently-inked partnership with DICT-CAR will greatly help in the Commission’s unimpeded service delivery and shall improve the overall conduct of its activities that relies greatly on ICT requirements.
