The Professional Regulatory Board of Accountancy (PRBOA) of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), in cooperation with the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) named the pioneering batch of Association of Southeast Asian Nations’ Chartered Professional Accountants (ASEAN CPAs) last July 31, 2021.
Opening a wider array of global opportunities while keeping abreast of emerging trends in changes in the practice of the accountancy profession, eligible professional Filipino accountants formally took their oath before the Commission, witnessed by PRBOA Chairman Honorable Noe G. Quiñanola, Vice Chairperson Honorable Thelma S. Ciudadano, Honorable PRC Commissioners Jose Y. Cueto Jr. and Yolanda D. Reyes, and administered by the Honorable PRC Chairman Teofilo S. Pilando, Jr..
To date, there are five thousand five hundred six (5,506) registered ASEAN CPAs within the ASEAN region, wherein the Philippines has a total of ninety-six (96), which makes it sixth (6th) with the most number of registered ASEAN CPAs.
Indeed, this significant feat proves the Filipino Accounting professionals’ competitiveness and excellence that can even go beyond international standards of the professional counterparts overseas.
