As the country propels sustainable initiatives towards healthier and greener communities, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Professional Regulatory Board for Foresters, in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Society of Filipino Foresters, Inc. (SFFI), led the nationwide observance of Arbor Day last June 25, 2021.
This annual celebration of Arbor Day, which literally translates to “tree” day from the Latin origin of the word arbor--- is promulgated under Republic Act No. 10176, also known as the “Arbor Day Act of 2012”. With more than thirty (30) planting sites nationwide, over nine hundred (900) participants, and countless number of seedlings, the PRC and the PRB for Foresters sent a message of invitation and call for action to protect the environment and save Mother Earth by planting more trees.
