The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. A guide to understanding and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 is available at: https://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/

All iGovPhil Project services and content are currently moving towards WCAG Level A compliance. Work is being done to make the system fully compliant with this level.

PRB of Accountancy Launches Centenary Year of the Philippine Accountancy Profession

The grand launching of the “Centenary Year of the Philippine Accountancy Profession” was conducted last March 17, 2022.  The event marked the start of the year-long celebration to commemorate the 100th years anniversary of the accountancy profession in the Philippines, which will begin on March 18, 2022 and culminate on March 17, 2023 pursuant to Proclamation No. 1333 by the President of the Philippines.

This year’s celebration centers on the theme “Celebrating the Past, Transforming the Present, Shaping the Future”, wherein various activities will be jointly participated by the Professional Regulatory Board (PRB) of Accountancy, Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountant (PICPA), and all four sectoral organizations-- public practice, commerce and industry, education/academe, and government service, of the Accountancy profession.

Present during the launching were PRB Members Hon. Chairman Noe G. Quiñanola, Hon. Vice-Chairperson Thelma S. Ciudadano, Hon. Members Samuel B. Padilla, Gloria T. Baysa, Gervacio I. Piator, Maria Teresita Z. Dimaculangan, and Rosalinda D. Evangelista; PRC Commissioner, Hon. Jose Y. Cueto, Jr., Energy Regulatory Commission Commissioner, Hon. Marko Romeo L. Fuentes, and Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman, Hon. Emilio B. Aquino, who served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.

Meanwhile, PRC Hon. Chairman Teofilo S. Pilando Jr. and former Senator and Chairman of Villar Group of Companies Manny Villar graced the occasion thru videoconferencing.
