The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. A guide to understanding and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 is available at: https://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/

All iGovPhil Project services and content are currently moving towards WCAG Level A compliance. Work is being done to make the system fully compliant with this level.

The capsule laying was participated by Engr. Esmeralda De Guzman, Assistant District Engineer of Cagayan Third District Engineering Office (CTDEO), DPWH RO2, Dir. Joel M. Gonzales of DOLE RO2 and Hon. Congressman Joseph “Jojo” L. Lara as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.

Not just working in parallel towards the same goal but working productively together, creating a synergy for the benefit of the public”, Hon. Chairman Pilando underscores as he recognized the invaluable support and cooperation of PRC RO2 officers and employees in making the momentous occasion possible.

Further, Hon. Commissioner Erwin M. Enad, Oversight Commissioner for the PRC’s infrastructure development projects also emphasized the role of the Commission in bringing its services conveniently to our transacting public as he delivered his message, “In everything we do, we should have the professionals in mind first. This is consistent to our mandate and principle that our facilities and services must address the evolving needs of our professionals in all Regions”, said Comissioner Enad.

In collaboration with the DPWH – CTDEO and through the initiative of Congressman Lara, the amount of Ten Million (10M) was included in the National Expenditure Program (NEP) and GAA for FY 2022 covering the 1st Phase implementation of the said project.

The said project will be of great help to the PRC and the examinees as this will serve as venue for the conduct of various CBLEs in the Region which will provide easier access and convenience.
